We Are Local AI, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 39-5103394) headquartered at 772 W Main St, Ste 202, Lake Geneva, WI 53147. We operate wearelocal.ai and related services that connect locals in need with volunteers and partner businesses who want to help.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to match neighbors with help:

• Request Help forms: your name, contact information, location, the type of assistance requested, and any description you provide.
• Offer Help / Volunteer forms: your name, contact information, service area, skills or services offered, and availability.
• Partner and Contact forms: your name, organization, contact information, and message.
• Donations: processed by third-party payment providers. We receive the information needed to acknowledge your gift and issue tax receipts.
• Basic technical data: standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed) used to keep the site secure and functional.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Matching requests for help with appropriate volunteers or partners.
• Communicating with you about your request, volunteer role, or partnership.
• Coordinating services and following up to confirm help was provided.
• Improving our programs and reporting anonymized impact to our board and community.
• Complying with legal obligations that apply to nonprofits.

4. Confidentiality

Requests for help are treated as confidential. We share only the information a matched volunteer or partner needs to actually provide the help you requested; not your full story, not your situation. We do not publish requestors' names or details on our website or social media without your explicit permission.

5. When We Share Information

We share information only in these cases:

• With matched volunteers or partners; the minimum needed to complete the service you requested.
• With service providers that help us run the organization (for example, form processing, email delivery, and payment processing), under agreements that require them to protect your information.
• When required by law, or to protect the safety of any person.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade donor or requestor lists.

6. Data Retention

We keep request and volunteer information for as long as it is useful for coordinating help and reporting our program impact. You may ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing hello@wearelocal.ai. Donation records are retained as required by tax and nonprofit recordkeeping rules.

7. Your Choices

• Ask what information we have about you.
• Ask us to correct or update it.
• Ask us to delete it, subject to legal recordkeeping requirements.
• Opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

8. Cookies and Analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site running and to understand aggregate usage. We do not use advertising trackers or sell any data collected through these tools.

9. Children

Our services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
